Here’s a brief introduction explaining how Socraflix came to be...
My journey to Socraflix
With thirteen years of teaching experience, including eight as Head of Department across two different school environments, I have developed a deep understanding of both classroom practice and middle leadership. These roles have shown me firsthand the critical importance—and immense demands—placed on middle leaders, who must balance managerial responsibilities with full teaching loads.
I have also served as a GCSE and A Level examiner for nine years across two exam boards. This experience has been the most valuable professional development of my career, providing insight that has significantly informed and sharpened my classroom practice.
During the first Covid lockdown, I started to dabble in video content creation for my students. This mainly involved me staring into my phone on a rickety tripod and occasionally holding up diagrams on a piece of paper. However, when the AI revolution began in 2023, I started to use image and voice tools to create a more polished result. Many (nearly 100) videos later, and I had developed my 'Socraflix' formula.
Socraflix launches in Summer 2025, and I am now seeking forward-thinking school leaders to partner with me in applying my skills to make a meaningful impact on school communities.
