Socraflix is ready to launch in schools across the Teesside & North Yorkshire area. This is what I have to offer.

Curriculum Development:
Focused on one department with three clear goals: reducing staff workload; upskilling less experienced staff; improving attainment

PSHE Development:
Focused on one or more sensitive PSHE topics with three clear goals: ensuring a consistent and robust curriculum; upskilling less experienced and time-poor staff; improving parent-school relations.

Whole School Assemblies:
Focused on a specific Year Group or term with three clear goals: celebrating your school's ethos and values; educating young people on the skills and life lessons that will equip them for adult life; reducing the workload of SLT members

Local Heritage and/or Local Geography:
Focused on a specific site with two clear goals: celebrating your school community and educating your young people about it so that they have a sense of pride.

Please read below to read about each in more detail.

Have something else in mind? No problem - just get in touch!

Would you like to have your most experienced and knowledgeable teacher in every classroom? Would you like an easy way to share their expertise with those earlier on in their career?

I'll work alongside your experts, and we will turn their wealth of knowledge into a series of videos that can have long-lasting and far-reaching impact on the lives of both staff and students.

Curriculum Development

PSHE Curriculum

Do you feel like your school or trust is being reactive rather than proactive with its PSHE curriculum? Our young people face challenges that we never faced - in a world that, once understood, changes again. Do you worry about the pressure that this places on teachers who deliver your PSHE curriculum?

I'll work with your PSHE experts, as well as local or national charities, to create a series of videos that provide your staff with the support they need. This will give you peace of mind that these difficult themes are being covered in a consistent, well-informed and appropriate manner. Alongside this, I can also provide resources to send out to parents, so they become better informed and gain reassurance that their children are being taught these issues in a robust, unbiased and sensitive way.

Do you want your assemblies to better convey the ethos and values of your school? Have you introduced a new initiative and now need the school community to jump on board? In our co-planning meeting, I would sit down with a member of SLT to discuss the upcoming program of assemblies and any existing resources. I would then revamp or design presentations so that the topic fits with your core values and messaging.

Whole School Assemblies

Local Heritage

Do you want to celebrate the local heritage of your community? Do you find that this valuable piece of the History curriculum is often de-prioritised for other topics? Or do you simply it difficult to get students enthused about faded old photographs?

I have a personal passion for local heritage and so would gladly work alongside your History department to either re-vamp your existing resources or create new ones. These can be woven into the History curriculum or into the tutor time and assembly programme. I would work with local historians and museum staff to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the story of your school's community.

Does your school sit in a stunning location? (Since I am serving just the Teesside and North Yorkshire area, the answer is a resounding YES!)

Here's a confession - I dropped Geography in Year 9 because I found UK Physical Geography dull as dishwater. It was often grainy old photos of landscapes that were on the other side of the country. Then my parents moved to Saltburn, and I discovered the Cleveland Way. I started taking our Golden Retriever, Alfie, for long walks and photographing him in the stunning locations. I soon found myself snooping through Geography textbooks to learn about the landforms that I had traversed. I then made the life-changing decision to follow my parents up here to a part of the country that I truly love.

Our co-planning meeting(s) would involve a Geography specialist and also consult a local geologist or representative from the Local Authority or North York Moors National Park; we would identify an area and its landform(s). We could revamp an existing scheme of work or start from scratch. I would then record footage of the physical landscape and use this as a basis for my series of videos.
